Fairy Tale Eggplant
Black Krim

Days: 50
Size: 18-24" w/ 4" eggplants
Type: Dwarf Hybrid
Description
An Eggplant as Beautiful as a Flowering Annual -- and Much Tastier! Pick this
merrily striped fruit young (4 inches) for best flavor! Fairy Tale Hybrid really
is all about happiily-ever-afters -- now you can grow the loveliest, most
tender-sweet fruits of your gardening career right on the patio in containers!
Handsome enough for the annual flower bed but ready to produce enough yummy
fruits to keep everyone coming back for seconds, Fairy Tale Hybrid is the
Eggplant you MUST try this season. No wonder it won a 2005 All-America
Selection! This dwarf reaches just 18 to 24 inches high and wide, setting masses
of showy purple-lavender blooms all over its well-branched form. These are
followed by eggplants in clusters of 2 to 4. Very slender and long, they are
neon-lavender with bold streaks of white -- absolutely show stopping! And the
flavor is the best part of all. Pick Fairy Tales young -- about 4 inches -- and
sink your teeth into the most tender, sweet, succulent Eggplant you've ever
tasted. No bitterness here! Fairy Tale Hybrid has been awarded a 2005
All-America Selection for its revolutionary habit and look, but I think its best
merit is flavor! Plan to design your garden around this splendid edible
ornamental!

Pepper Karma
- SOLD OUT!
Black Krim

Days: 68
Size: 25-35" w/ 6x4" peppers
Color: Red
Type: Hybrid
Description
#1 in North America for Yield, Size, Color -- and Taste! The new standard of
excellence in bell peppers! The best was growing right here in our South
Carolina trial gardens, as well as in fields nationwide. Early on, Karma got top
ratings for its heavy yield, large 6- by 4-inch shape, showy
dark-green-to-bright-red color, and thick walls. But every gardener knows that
the 3 most important criteria for vegetables are taste, taste, and taste. So
when the raves began pouring in from taste tests, we proclaimed Karma "the new
standard of excellence in bell peppers." These TMV-resistant plants reach 25 to
35 inches tall and need staking to support their huge bounty. Scrumptious juicy,
sweet flavor with no aftertaste!

and blocky, about 4 inches tall and wide, with a crisp, mild flavor and terrific

stuffing, slicing into rings for dips and salad toppings, and chopping into
crisp bite-sized nibbles. Expect a big harvest from these vigorous plants, which
reach 28 to 30 inches high. Part of the secret of California Wonder's success is
its resistance to Tobacco Mosaic Virus, which keeps the foliage healthy and
strong all season long. You can't go wrong with this trusted favorite! Set
plants 2 feet apart in full sun. If planting many seedlings, space rows about 3
feet apart. Fruit is most nutritious if allowed to ripen on the plant.

Pepper Atris
Black Krim

Days: 65
Size: Vining w/ 9" peppers
Color: Red
Type: Hybrid
Description
Indeterminate. Giant, packed with sweet flavor, and so lovely, these horn-shaped peppers measure 9 inches long, maturing from green to rich, glossy red on very heavy-yielding plants. Everything about Atris is satisfying and over-the-top delicious -- no wonder it received England's top honor for a vegetable from seed, the Royal Horticulture Society's prestigious Award of Garden Merit! The fruit is long and slender, yet the walls are very thick (great for stuffing!) and surprisingly heavy, filled with meaty, juicy, super-sweet flavor. Better plan to pickle some of these peppers, because the plant is very heavy-yielding over a long season, and you're soon going to be harvesting armloads of delectable goodness! But that's all right -- you will keep finding new uses for this versatile fruit, dicing it into sauces, chopping it into salads, grilling, stuffing, and baking it. Vigorous and highly productive, this is one of the best peppers of any type you can grow. Discover its attractive plate appeal, ease of culture, and scrumptious flavor this season. You'll be back for more!

Zucchini Squash Raven
Black Krim

Days: 43
Size: 24" w/ 8" zucchini
Color: Green
Type: Hybrid
Description
Much meatier and more flavorful than others! Nearly spineless fruit harvest easily and taste delicious! Love Zucchini but just don't have the space for those big, sprawling plants? Raven Hybrid is the answer -- a truly compact variety that improves every stage of the process, from saving space in the garden to simplifying harvest with spineless fruit to delighting your taste buds with fruit much meatier and more flavorful than older varieties! These deep green fruits reach 7 or 8 inches long and about 2 inches in diameter, and arise very abundantly all over plants just 2 feet high and 3 feet wide. And you can harvest them with the gloves off -- the fruit is nearly spineless and the plant is open-habit! That's good, because you're going to be picking them longer than other varieties -- Raven outlasts all others at season's end by several weeks! But the real treat comes when you take your first bite of Raven Hybrid. The flavor is rich, substantial (the only way I can describe it is "meaty"), and filling, with much more of a presence than other Zucchinis. This is the perfect variety to eat raw or lightly steamed, so that you bring out the most of the fresh, full flavor.
